Hmmmm I am so guilty of that too. It's a wonder they can breathe with all that going on isn't it? Trusty things they are - LOL

I once went into a sewing machine shop to ask about replacement "felt-underlay donut" for my bobbin - they just laughed at me and suggested I clean my machine!!

I'm still laughing at the felt underlay donut - what a hoot. Lift your head up my friend, just remember to clean the poor wee thing more often. It's really a positive of how much you have been stitching.

I am at a pint where my machine is clunking now & then & figure it's due a service. Maybe I could give it a clean too - that would be new! Wonderful tools aren't they, and give us loyal service with so little maintenance from us. xx

Hello Joy,
in Germany we call it woolmice and sometimes they slip into a sewing machine, in Your Rosie or in my Nina.

Oh dear! I suspect that this might be one of the pictures the sewing machine mechanics show us to tell us what not to do!! Well we all know this but we should clean out the bobbin case every time we change the needle - which should of course be every 8 hours of sewing . . mmm. well that is what I was told by the person who does the "How to look after your machine" class at that patchwork shop in your area - not mentioning names names of course!! And he scared the stuffign out of me so now I am a convert!!
(This is all meant lightheartedly Joy!!)

Thanks for the reminder, Joy. Something I seldom think about until I see or hear someone mention it.

I think that a good cleaning of my sewing machine will be first on my list after I can get back into my sewing room after the renos.

I just use my can of air, then the dust blows everwhere, but at least it doesn't form up into a large bunny and pose for pictures. 8)

Happy stitching,

Guilty! I know we all put this off. I am the same with my computer keyboard...I wait until my key sticks before I get out my trusty paint brush to sweep out the lint.
