DD2 (Bear) and her boyfriend Blake have a little puppy. He’s a miniature Daschund and his name is Doug (oh how I love those wrinkly legs ;o).

Fortunately for me he’ll be spending most of his time at his Dad’s (Blake’s) house. But he’s here a lot too – Sophie’s not too impressed with that, although she’s been surprisingly tolerant so far. Probably best not to push our luck there though – just sayin’.

As for me, not much stitching going on, just pattern writing and lots (and lots) of cutting and kitting. These are all to be taken to the “Lets Get Stitched” weekend in Tassie … not long now, I’ve got a widget on the sidebar counting down the minutes lol.

I’ve still got loads to do before we go … probably should get to it rather than playing on the ‘puter lol.

A great Scrap Buster!

My DH and Bear were both away for the weekend. Poor DH was working but Bear was off for a girl’s weekend having fun on the Gold Coast.

So what on earth was I to do all alone while they were away ;o)?

Have you tried these? They’re made using this fabulous tutorial and it’s free - along with heaps of other scrap busting tutorials. They are all by Quiltville’s® Bonnie K Hunter and are so easy peasy. I’ve been wanting to try out these blocks for ages and now I that I have I can see many more will be happening ;o).

I moved my sewing machine into the dining room and put a few pre-recorded shows on the tv and had my very own one woman stitch-in :o)!!!

So now today I’ve had to do this…I’ve cut lots more 2 1/2” squares so they should keep me going for a bit longer :o).

Somebunny arrived at my house!!!

I recently won a giveaway over at Shell’s place – Raspberry Rabbits … and my gawjus beautiful prize has arrived!!! I couldn’t wait to tear into the package, and look what was inside!!! My very own Love Bunny designed by Shell herself  – and it’s the only kind of bunny I’m allowed to have here in Queensland I might add – live ones are a no-no!!!  Isn’t she adorable :D!!! Shell also included some little surprises … I can’t wait to try the Valdani thread, mmmmm – pink and green, one of my favourite combinations :o).

We are not amused!!

Poor Sophie!!! Bear thought it would be fun to see what she looked like wearing my cupcake as a hat…

I dread to think what she’d be saying if she could talk LOL.

So here’s what I’ve been making these past few days The cute owly “Dear Diary” will be one of the prizes at a High Tea fundraiser I’m helping to organise in May. I wish I could show you the other stuff but it’s all ‘secret squirrel’ until after Tassie – so excited!! We fly down there 3 weeks today – Woohoo!!!

Lazy Kitty!!

I couldn’t resist grabbing the camera the other day when my Sophie was ‘overseeing’ my work lol … She was trying to get a bit of shut eye but the flash was getting on her nerves by the looks …. I reckon this last shot says it all he he he … Here’s a sneaky peek at what I was up to, I can’t show much cos it’s a surprise for the “Let’s Get Stitched” weekend in Tassie!!! I can show you this though, it’s “Pockets on the Go” an Atkinson Design. My friends Valerie, Lynn, Janice and I all made one last Wednesday – boy we had some laughs :o)!!Loads of pockets inside, I can think of dozens of uses for this little bag!!

Well the fabrics are all picked out for the darling ‘new addition’s’ quilt – I’m using Lily and Will by Bunny Hill designs. That part was easy cos I LOVE those fabrics, now I just have to decide on a design - having lots of fun with that :o)!! Fortunately I didn’t have to worry about the colour cos my DILy’s favourite colour is blue, so blue it will be – for a boy or a girl :o).

We recently had the BEST news!!!

My wonderful Son Ross and his beautiful wife Alicia are expecting their very first baby!!!!

Our first Grandchild :D!!

We couldn’t be happier :D!!

Think I’ve got some stitching to do :D!!

A Little Batch of Cupcakes

My friends and I were stitching up a storm yesterday.

We bought a fabulous pattern called "Hot Cakes" by Susie C Shore Designs  from my local quilt store, and this is what we made…

I ended up making 5 - not sure what the final count is from the others yet lol. They're SO easy to put together and I think these cute oven mits will make fabulous gifties :o).

I'm off to add these to my OPAM finishes for February :o). 

I’m a little bit excited!!!
