Shows and an old Sewing Box

I went to the Textile show in South Brisbane last Saturday. Wow, I was just amazed at the incredible talent shown in the Art Quilts there. It really took my breath away. I'll share a couple of pics on this post but there are just too many to put them all in at once. Truly works of art. I just loved seeing them all. I also got in a little bit of shopping. I've been after this "Dear Jane" book for some time now, it's a 'do before I die' project lol - the price was too good to walk past so I thought I'd better grab it ;o). Goodness knows when I'll get around to starting it ... but I do have the best of inentions ;o). Oh and look Jenny, I also grabbed a Dresden Plate template!!! I have some plans for that little fellow :o). It really was a great show, so much to see - loads of eye candy. I'll look forward to next year :o).

I also got these gorgeous treats in the mail last week - Moda "Cotton Blossoms" by Camille (Cotton Way) and Bonnie (Thimble Blossoms). I ordered them from QuiltersBiz - loads of lovely goodies there and some great specials!! They are for another quilt for Ross and Alicia ... I really like these even though they're a bit more contemporary than I'd usually go for. I showed them to Alicia and I've got the nod of approval there too (phew) :o). Hmmm, it seems Sophie cat likes them too ... although she'd rather just use them as a pillow. Good thing she's there to 'protect' my stuff!!
We did manage to get back into the city for the Guitar Show that we thought was on last weekend. Yep, this week the dates were definitely right lol ... DH loved it ... he was like a kid in a lolly shop (candy store for my US friends ;o)!!!). It just so happened that there was also a display in City Hall Museum of silky oak furniture so we popped down to see that too. Look what we found!!! Isn't it just gorgeous!!?!! Made in 1929 - I'd just LOVE a sewing box like this. And look what's been carved in the lid ..... "Darn the thing" ..... isn't that just beautiful!!??!
Talk soon ............

Such goodies Joy! Love the box. Fabulous. That man is an incredible work of art. How great to see all this. The kitty with fabric is classic, I love it. Kitties seem to gravitate to my fabric.
