“Garden Friends”

Just recently I got the chance to meet up with my dear friend Cheryl and drive out to see the lovely ladies (and gentleman – sorry John lol) of “Fresh Hope”. what a pleasure it was to meet them all …. and we were made to feel so welcome. The fabulous spread the girls had cooked up for our morning tea was simply delicious – Mmmm, I can still taste that yummy lemon slice :oD !! Cheryl and I both thoroughly enjoyed our morning with Mary, Karen & John and the girls, not to mention the gawjus little ones although most of the children were at school :o). After our visit we were left in no doubt that the Gumtree Designers had chosen absolutely the right charity to donate to :o). You can read more about Fresh Hope and the wonderful work they do here.

So … here’s the block I designed. I called it “Garden Friends”. Fresh Hope - Nutters stitcheries 017To me the gawjus butterfly and it’s transformation from the caterpillar is the perfect way to show how a life lived one way can also be transformed into something fresh and new and beautiful …. as with the help of “Fresh Hope”.

As a group we all came up with the accrostic “Fresh Hope” poem and we each stitched a line … this is the one I got to do……….Fresh Hope - Nutters stitcheries 014 The “Springtime Quilt” was a tremendous project for us all to work on together - even though we are all so far apart - it was a wonderful experience for us all :o)!! It (the gawjus quilt) flew far and wide for each step to be achieved - and I can’t help feeling totally chuffed that it turned out as beautifully as it did :o)!! If you’d like to know more about how it all came together then pop on over to the Among the Gumtrees blog for the story AND to see the "Springtime Quilt" in all it's beauty :o)

Please pop in and visit my gawjus fellow Gumtree Designers and see their individual blocks too .... Dawn, Vikki, Vicki, Cheryl, Jenny, Blossom (guest designer), Judith and Fiona, :o). It was such a dream working with them all to create this fabulous project - love 'em to bits :o)!!!
