I’m Back!!

I’ve had a bit of an unplanned blog-break over the past few several weeks. But I’m back on board again and hoping I’ll be able to post a bit more regularly again. Of course I’ve still been keeping up with what you’ve all been doing … and even managing a comment every now and then too – oh what a slacker I’ve been lol.
So I guess you’re wondering what I’ve made?? Oh please say yes he he he ……
First are the covers for the arms of Mums recliner chairs – the one even has pockets for all her remotes etc. Luckily I had some fabrics left from the covers I made for her at Christmas time – perfick match :o)!!
I’ve also had loads of fun making some of these …334) Dawn's Pot PieIsn’t it gawjus??!! It’s for putting your hot pots on to save burning the benchtop!! This one was part of a dear friend’s birthday gift.
I also made a Bucket of Buckets for another dear friend, some cute covered notebooks from this tutorial (so easy peasy – thanks Clare!!) and even another doctor bag (my favourite so far)!!!
While trying to take pics of my last finish for last month I had the usual problems with Sophie (CEO Quality Control) giving me a hand and sneaking underneath for a ‘catnap’ checking for any loose threads on the back he he he ……
I also got a delightful surprise from a very special friend last month. Maria and I ‘met’ through blogging back in 2008 and we finally got to meet for real for the first time last year when DH and I went to UK. Look at the fabulous goodies she sent me!!!!!
The wallhanging is in my loungeroom now, I think of Maria each time I see it!! Oh, and those fingerless gloves are SO soft and just right for me as I can even stitch in them. Thanks again Maria for your unbelievable kindness …. I love it all :o)!!!
Before I go I just want to let you know about a new blogger – Pami – finally Jeanette’s and my nagging has brought her to blogland lol – please pop over and say hi to her :o)!!
Well that’s it from me for now ……… hopefully I can get back into the swing of things again ;o) ………

Gawjus Gifties from dear friends!!

Can you believe it’s the last day of 2009!!!??? Oh my goodness that crept up on me LOL. So, before the year has disappeared entirely please indulge me a little while I ‘show off’ a few more lovely pressies from some very spesh people!!

I can’t believe how lucky I am!!! So many wonderful thoughtful pressies. I’m so grateful to each and every one of my dear, dear friends :o)!! The beautiful bag on the right is a Christmas swap pressie from Dawn, we were swap partners last year and decided to do it again ... what fun!!

I was quite spoilt this Christmas and I just HAVE to show you this pressie … it was from my brother and SIL ……December 09 299 Now they couldn’t have possible known it but I was admiring these gorgeous measuring cups here while blog hopping just before Chrissy and thinking to myself that I just might buy a set after the festivities were all done with. So you can imagine my surprise when I opened the wrapping to find the exact same set!!! What an amazing coincidence, and aren’t they SO CUTE??!!!

Another nice surprise was in my mailbox. My Patchwork and Stitching magazine arrived last week and look what’s on page 40!!!! How exciting!!!!!December 09 301This is a wallhanging pattern of mine, and I just LOVE how they’ve photographed it, doesn’t it look pretty :o)!!??!

Well before I go I’d like to wish you all a very happy new year and I hope that 2010 is a fabulous and stupendous year for all of you!!! I’ll probably sleep through the fireworks he he, I’ll celebrate tomorrow after a good night’s sleep LOL.

PS ….. Thanks so much to all the lovely bloggers who bought my patterns … the “Sale” finishes tonight so I’ll be removing them from the sidebars later this evening, so if you still want one at that special price be quick before they disappear :o)!!

2 more sleeps!!!!!

I'm so excited!! Only two more sleeps until Christmas!!! Can I really wait that long until I open some pressies??? Well, in a word ...... nope ;o). I must confess that I've already opened one ... just one, that's all. These are the gifts I received from my swap partner Dawn - it's a long story, but her little darling Jemimah (3) has already helped her open her gifties from me lol, so I have opened just the one from Jemimah to me (it's the one on the bottem left of the picture).... and this is what Jemimah sent me, isn't it lovely!!! I'm looking forward to stitching it up - Thanks Jemimah, hope you love your little Santa :o).
I also received a gift from Julie - this was totally unexpected and really made my day!! Thanks so much Julie, I can't wait to see what's inside ;o). ...... But that's not all, I've been admiring the very clever work of my friend Jeanette on her blog lately and one of the things she made arrived at my house this morning!!! You can't see them in the piccy, but this gorgeous bon bon is full of toffees!!! YUM!!! What a wonderful surprise!!!!! I'm feeling incredibly spoilt this week - thank you all so much for your kindness :o).

DD2 and I have been busy in the kitchen the past few days. We've finally got the Christmas treats all made. Do you love our little mini puddings??? Soooo easy to make :o). We do these every year.We made these yummy shortbread stars .... I have to tell you , these just melt in the mouth - YUMMY!!.... and we made some 'White Christmas' - sorry, I should've taken a piccy of them, and little cherry chocolates. I did the Ice creams today too - I love this recipe, I found it last year and it was a HUGE hit. It's vanilla ice-cream and you mix in chopped red and green licorice, chopped macadamias, shredded coconut and chopped macadamia cookies. It's so delicious :o) you should try it.

More sewing to do now ... and don't worry, the tutorial for the little red bag will be coming very soon, I promise :o). I'll post piccies of MIL's bag as soon as it's done too ..... yep, that's right, I'm still doing it LOL.

Take care,

Ho-Ho-Hugs,

Joy :o)
