Well here it is, my first June finish!!! Now I know it looks like a quilt with handles, but Sophie, my very capable assistant, will take you through a short step by step tutorial on how to turn it into a bag :o)!!!
First you gather up the ties on the one side ……then you do the same on the other side …..if you can’t remember how you did the first side then go back and have another play look :o). then go back to the second one for another go …..Once you finish playing with tying the ties … Then you’ll have a great big bag!!!!!So now you can hop inside and check for comfort ……Close it up and ensure that it’s nice and roomy too :o) …Once you’ve established that all is well with the world, you can have a little nap :o). Cos turning quilts into bags is tiring ya know!!!
By Sophie (Meow-purrr) ;o).
If anyone else would like to make one of these lovely big bags for their kitty for carrying their quilts n stuff, then you’ll find the pattern in a book called “Jelly Roll Quilts” by Pam and Nicky Lintott :o).

How cute, love it, looks like it could be simple-ish and reasonably fast - I think we have that book in our Group's Library,(like I really need another project).

Love your bag Joy! But I especially love the tutorial!!I have this book too.. it's wonderful.
Hey Joy-Belle! Oh, your Sophie did make me laugh!! :0) I can see she definitely has a future as a craft teacher! Tee! Hee! Hee! And some good tips along the way there ... never be scared to stop and play and at the end of the day ... take a nap! :0) Bear Hugs! KRIS
Joy, you just crack me up!! What a wonderful tutorial. I love Sophie. She looks very much like my sweet girl, Minnow, who was always into the middle of my sewing projects. Actually, she was in the middle of everything I did!! If I went shopping, I had to show her everything I bought, and she would dutifully give every little item a sniff of approval! I miss her so much! ~karen
i love it!! and your cat! But seriously, this is such a great bag/blanket - it would be perfect for all my knitting - i guess you could put a few pockets inside too for the needles. And beautiful fabric too!
