Bloggers are so Wonderful!!

I’ve had a lump in my throat looking at all the incredibly generous donations for auctions …. and also the amazing generosity of bidders too. Bloggers really are wonderful!! Over the past few days I’ve watched huge parts of the state I love devastated by floods and an inland tsunami. Lives have been lost. Heroes have been found. Houses and possessions have been washed away. But through it all, the goodness in the people of Australia … in fact - people all over the world … has shone through like a beacon. God Bless them all!!
I went to my local patchwork store yesterday to pick up some odds and ends to pop in with the sewing caddies that we are gathering at the Among the Gumtrees blog. I was totally overwhelmed by Margaret’s reaction when I told her what we were doing. Just look at she gave me to add to the caddies!!!!January 2011 085 I tell you I was almost in tears when she kept coming out with more and more goodies to give to quilters who had suffered losses through the floods. Thank you Margaret :o)!!!!
I finished my first caddy today and I’m pleased to bits with it …January 2011 103
I’m going to try and get the pattern written up very soon in case any of you would like to make one like it :o). It has a little zippered pocket on the left and a covered pocket in the middle – just right for taking a stitchy project along with you!! (Oh Vicki that’s a stiTCHy project LOL). Proceeds will go to the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal.
Here’s another link for you if you’d like to help the flood appeal by buying a PDF pattern by by one of the Gumtree Designers …
pop on over to this post and have a look. Ruth at Sewlmate Sister is having a sale on a selection of our patterns (above)and you can get any one of them (or more if you’d like!!!)
for a limited time for just a $5.50US each!!!
I’m off to write up a caddy pattern ;o)!!

Wow your local shop was very generous! Love your caddy too, I have made one and nearly finished the 2nd, using Helens pattern from Hugs n Kisses. I have left off the hand stitchery though because I am painfully slow!

The great Aussie spirit is amazing isn't it??? I'm sure this horrible thing happened to give us a shakeup and remind us that it's not always about 'us' but about 'each other'...it's been amazing to watch the tv and see people from all walks come together as one!
Can't wait for the pattern ....I've made Jen's 'Honey' sewingkit as my number 1, now onto number 2!!

love and big sugary hugs sweety
