Lots of rain = lots of stitching!!

I went to a fabulous shop on Friday with my “Friday Ladies”. I could have spent a fortune, but I restrained myself and just bought one thing…….March 2010 043 Isn’t it cute ….March 2010 044 This will be for when Mum comes to stay, she can have her lunch or brekky on it ….. special :o).

With all the rain we’ve had I’ve been able to get loads of stitching done. I was very pleased with myself for getting Dawn’s Baseco Bag done. You can buy the PDF pattern here, it’s only $4!!!! And all the proceeds are going to a very worthy cause. Check it out :o).March 2010 062 As you can see I cheated a little and used a pair of handles that I already had, I think they suit it :o).March 2010 061Cute stitcheries …March 2010 058 A lovely big button to finish it off!!March 2010 063I used 17 charm squares for this bag, with a few more bits from my stash … so, lucky me, I qualify for Jenny’s March “Charm Challenge”!!! I’ll be filling this bag with all my stitching goodies to take to my quilting group this morning.

I also got my Sashiko tablerunner finished over the weekend. I’m trying to think of a name for it and as soon as I do there will be a giveaway. March 2010 077 Any ideas??March 2010 076Here’s the back … I used a few leftover pieces from my Sashiko bag.March 2010 081 Hope you all had a t’riffic weekend!!!

Hi Joy
Your bag and runner are lovely! What about a Japanese name for your runner - 'tonbo' (dragonfly)?

Oh my, Joy! Your bag is beautiful!!! I love it and the handles are just perfect. The table runner is gawjus!! Makes me wish I hadn't posted the picture of that tacky ole tote I made. But, hey, you gotta start somewhere so maybe I'll get half as good as you are at some point before I'm too old to thread the needle. Have a great weekend.

How about "Drangonflys and Doilies" for your runner? It looks wonderful.

your bag has turned out a treat, but I just think the tablerunner is just stunning. I thought of "Dragonfly Dreams" or "Simply Sashiko". Whatever the name, I would love to make it!!
