On our way to Sydney!!

Maree and I are at the airport and ready to fly to Sydney for the,quilt show .... Despite the hiccups with my lost booking! Yep, had to book all over again - you can tell I'm not a frequent flyer lol. Jetstar was great, phew.
I'll keep you posted ;o)

A little quilt for a special little someone

Here’s something I’ve been working on – on and off- for a few months now. Every time I wanted to work on it, something else would crop up and I’d have to put it away again *sigh*.

Now it’s finished, and I can’t wait to hand it over to the sweet little boy it was made for. Here he is pulling playing with Bear’s hair. This is Archie’s quilt :o).

I also finished the quilt top for my Mum’s friend in the UK – need to hurry up and quilt it for her :o). I laid it out on the floor and Doug the dog very kindly stepped in to help me… He held it down for me, then he helped me to fold it…which is not easy for a little doggy whose legs are only about 3” tall lol …  But he gave it his best shot, and was pretty proud of himself even though he couldn’t quite finish the job ;o). I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!!!

Out and About and ANOTHER new pattern!!

Oh it’s been a lovely week for catching up with friends!!! On Tuesday our quilt group took a bus trip to the Gold Coast for our annual Queensland Quilters Picnic. The bus trip was super fun, Nikki and Karen (no blog) did a marvellous job of keeping us all entertained with lots of laughs and gawjus goodie bags and prizes!!

 I managed to catch up with a couple of my lovely dear bloggy friends – Teresa and Cheryl – it was so great to see you both!

 Fun, laughter and friendship was the order of the day … and the weather was simply glorious to match :o)!!!

Yesterday I ventured out to Brisbane’s inaugural “Mad Quilters’ Gathering” at the RNA showgrounds. What a great show!! Much smaller than the shows held at Southbank, and I think that made it better in some ways as it was more relaxed and friendly … I wasn’t rushing to get around to see everything before I ran out of time LOL. In fact I went around a few times to spend more time on the stands that might have been crowded on my first visit. Of course, I did spend some time at this stand with the gawjus girls from my local quilt store!!!

That’s Selena on the left, Maria in the middle and Margaret on the right in amongst some of their fabulous fare. If you go to the show please pop in and tell them I said hi :o)!!!! You’ll also find my new pattern on their stand!!! It’s called “In The Bag” …..

So handy for keeping your blocks (up to 14"!!!!) and sewing goodies in! The little needlecase can come out when you’re using it and the larger scissors are tied in with a pretty ribbon to stop them falling out. You’ve also got a pocket for your tiny scissors and two more pockets for your bits and bobs.

I just love the pretty ruffles on the front … and the covered button of course ;o).

 I’ll be releasing this pattern after the show … that’s next week!!! Hope you like it :o)!!
