Catching up

Oh my goodness, it’s been AGES since I did a post!!!
I just looked and my last one I’m off to Sydney …. where I must say we all had a blast. This is us at dinner, great food, great company :o).
It was fabulous to meet up with people who’ve been living in my ‘puter for so long lol. Thanks Maree for being a super roomie :o)!!!
Well I’ll show you what I’ve been up to for the past 3 weeks!! These are pics of a really fun blog meet-up with Wendy, Teresa and Marilyn!!!
Honestly, my jaw was aching from laughing so much with these gawjus ladies – so glad we finally got to meet you Wendy :o).
So what have I been making?? Not long ago I had a pile of unfinished projects, now, they’re done :o).  I’m thinking of giving this to my Mum for her Birthday in a couple of weeks, but I’m not sure yet.
It’s a great sized bag and easy to make, but if I was making it again I think I’d do it with firmer batting. The pattern – one my friend found in Homespun, (sorry, I can’t remember the designer) used quilted calico and it’s just a little bit floppy for me – but apart from that I love it :o).
Here’s yet another Doctor Bag and a cute ‘Colour n Carry’ I made for my hairdresser’s little grandson – he loves Diddy Kong :o)!June 2012 031June 2012 032

I’ve also finished a gawjus quilt for my very first grand-baby, but I can’t show any pics as I haven’t given the quilt to my DS and DILy yet and I’d like them to see it first. But I must say, I’m very pleased with it :o).
So here’s what I’m working on now …. DSC00070lots of lovely Christmassy goodness. It’s for a project I’m doing for this …DSC00071  with Nikki Tervo and Libby Richardson. If you’re able to get to Bundaberg for this fabulous weekend and you’d like more info please give Quilters Shack a call on the number in the pic. I’m so excited, I’m sure it will be a super-fun weekend :D.
Well I’d better get back to work – yes, I call it that but it’s hardly ‘work’ he he he.

Achoooooo!!!

I’ve had a bit of a cold  **sniff** !!
Haven’t felt like doing much.
But BEFORE the dreaded lurgy got me I had a fabulous time in Bundaberg at The Quilters Shack teaching a quilt as you go class. October 2011 049What a terrific bunch of ladies – such a fun day!!! Flying there and back in storms was an eye opener lol – but once I got there the weather in Bundy was simply beautiful. I’d love to go back one day and explore in the shop too, it’s HUGE - and packed to the brim with SO much fabricky loveliness!!! Thanks so much to Sue-Ellen for inviting me up, and to all the staff there for making me feel so welcome too, I really enjoyed myself :o)!!!
I’ve also been to the Craft and quilt fair in Brissy where I caught up with some lovely ladies … here’s Kez and me at her gawjus Giggle Buttons stand surrounded by lots of Red Brolly and Giggle goodness … Hiya Kez!!!October 2011 071Oh and you can just see the corner of Gail Pan’s Berries and Bluebirds on the left … mmmmm that’s another on my ‘to do’ list, love it!! I also bumped into the lovely Lynda at the Giggle Buttons stand but we forgot to get a piccy, what were we thinking he he!?!
I finally managed to meet Danielle from Country Threads too….October 2011 070 We’ve chatted on the phone lots of times but this was the first time we actually got to meet in person – and what’s that in the background on the left??? Why it’s my “Pudding Time” stitchery he he – look out for it in the next Patchwork and Stitching magazine :o)!!!
I went to lots of workshops and have SO many ideas buzzing around in my head, I can’t wait for the bug to be gone so that I can get back into my stitching – for now all I’ve been doing is doodling in my new Art Journal …. October 2011 118 it’s such fun and requires little or no thought – love it :o).
Hopefully next time I’ll have some show and tell for you of the stitchy kind, til then ……
