Our Spring garden and … a finish :o)!!

It’s been lovely weekend here in Brissy, the Spring weather has been nothing short of glorious :o). Have a look at how my garden is ‘Springing’ into season ;o) …

Here’s Bear doing a bit of gardening (yep, still in her jammies!!!) with a little help from Bundy ;o) …

We even had a visitor who came to sunbake and soak up the warmth …September 2011 058 AND I managed to do some stitching – Yay, another finish for September :o)!!! This is a new sample of my “Binder Carry-all”.September 2011 078I used some gawjus ‘Luna Notte’ fabrics for the dresden plates and sweet little applique’d butterflies. Aren’t the colours stunning??!!

There are some pretty rosebuds and leaves embroidered down the spine, I used Cottage Garden Threads for those, I just love the variegations – so pretty.

It has pockets on the inside when it’s opened – 3 small ones on the left side and one wide one on the right. Plus a pocketed section to slip onto the the 4 rings to carry your project …

I’ve been wanting to make another one of these for a while now and I’m chuffed with how this one has turned out, I love the brighter colours :o).

Hope you’ve had a terrific weekend too :o)!!!

A Great Night!!

Saturday night was a really happy night. We celebrated the engagement of DS Ross and his gorgeous fiance Alicia at such a fun party filled with loads of family and friends. Not even the rain could dampen our spirits. You can see by the smiling faces on the happy couple that they're set for a very happy life together ....... honestly, they're like that all the time!!! Still cloudy and overcast yesterday ... but we took my dear Mum and her friend Jill (from UK) to the Botanic Gardens. We had lunch there and a wander around the beautiful gardens. There were loads of water dragons running around making the most of the cooler weather ...some water fowl busy nesting ... this little guy kept bringing twigs and leaves to the other one for the nest ... so fascinating to watch!! ...and of course the plantlife was outstanding - how gorgeous is this giant Magnolia!!??!!
Hope your weekend was fabulous too :o)
Hugs,
Joy :o)
