Having a blast!!

How wonderful it is to be with my darling daughter again :o)!!We’re really enjoying our holiday so far and apart from some rain today we’ve been blessed with some really terrific sunny weather.

Here we are in Paris …. inside Notre Dame above and of course the gawjus Eiffel Tower below. We’re having a fabulous time and we’re trying to pack as much as we can into each day …. :o). We went to the Louvre and we even got to see this in the flesh … well, not in the ‘flesh’ exactly, it’s kept behind a glass case – but you know what I mean LOL.

We’re back in London today and will be off to Nice tomorrow with Tahlia and Luke (DD2 and her partner) … I can’t wait, I’m really looking forward to a slower pace too ;o).

I’m able to get onto the net every now and then so I’ll try to post again soon … until then …….

Another September Finish :o)

I just thought I’d show you another finish for September!! I made these yesterday cos I was a bit worried that my new little notebook might get scratched while we’re holidaying …There’s a pouch for all the USB Do-hickeys and Do-dads[[ those are very technical terms – sorry to those who aren’t quite so ‘puter savvy ;o)]] and of course a comfy little zippy topped sleeping bag for my dear little notebook :o) So now I’m pretty much ready to go!!!

Attention all stitchers from UK and France ;o)!!!

As you would probably have guessed by now, I’m getting a bit excited about our upcoming visit to see my gawjus girl and her partner in London … That’s my Tahlia in the red coat with her partner Luke on the left. The other couple are my DS Ross and his lovely wife Alicia – they visited UK last Christmas. I cannot wait to give Tahlia and Luke a great big hug – I miss them SO much!! Only 3 more sleeps til we leave :oD!!!!!!

Of course, we’ll also be doing some travelling around and some sight seeing, so I was hoping my friends in the UK might be able to help me out and let me know where the patchwork shops are over there as I’d love to check them out :o). We’ll be hiring a car for part of the holiday and plan to travel around a bit. We’ll also be going to France and spending a week in Nice so if there are any stores around there I’d love to hear about them too ;o).

I haven’t started packing yet … but I have to say, all of our suitcases are looking much smarter now, thanks to Fiona from Bubz Rugz – look what arrived in the mail yesterday… and when I opened it up …

3 GAWJUS luggage tags for our suitcases!!!!!!!!!! Don’t they look smart now (try to ignore my DHs guitar stuff in the background he he he). Bear (my DD2) also snaffled the pretty pink ribbon to go on hers :o)  …. We’ll have NO trouble picking out our bags on the carousels now!! THANK YOU SO MUCH Fiona … your thoughtfulness just warms my heart :o)!!! I LOVE them :o)!!!

I’d better be off … I still have HEAPS to do before we go ….

Well, I was going to say “what a weekend it’s been” … but I think “what a month it’s been” is more appropriate LOL!! I’ve just had a fabulous weekend at the show … met LOADS of lovely quilters and even some bloggers too …

And although I didn’t get a lot of time to chat with these gawjus ladies it sure was lovely to meet them!!! Thanks so much for popping in :o)!!!!

The past month getting everything ready has been so hectic but it all came off like a dream …. it was great fun!! I had my stand next to Nikki Tervo and all her gawjus buttons and patterns (yummm) … and she was telling me she’s going to get a blog going too – so look out for that!!!! This pic was taken before we opened on Sunday morning, with the stall holders wandering around and having a chat … if you look really carefully you can *just* see Nikki waaaay up the back there he he. And in the front of the pic, that’s Margaret from Bayside Stitchcraft [[my local PW store and one of my very favourite places to visit ;o)]] she was one of the wonderful ladies who helped to organise this terrific event. Now that all the show excitement is over, I have another thing to be preparing for … in just a few more days ….. {{well, 5 sleeps to be exact, but who’s counting he he he???!!}} we’ll be packing these….for our big trip away!! Can you guess which one is mine LOL??? I can’t believe that in just 6 sleeps I’ll be hugging my gawjus DD1 again … it’s been tooooo long!!!

London, Paris, Nice … here we come – WOOHOO!!!!!

Don’t worry, I’m taking my trusty laptop so I’ll be able to keep in touch with you all – and keep up with what you’re all doing too ;o).

I’m a bit chuffed!!!

I’ve just finished setting up my very first JoyPatch stand at our local ‘Redlands Quilt Extravaganza’!!!If you’re in the Brisbane area then pop in, I’d love to meet you – the show is at Cleveland Cultural Centre, 2 Middle St, Cleveland, Queensland and it’s on from Friday 10th until Sunday 12th :o)!!!

It’s my Darling Husband’s and my wedding anniversary today!!! 21 years!!!

Look what he sent me ……… as my dear friend Cheryl would say ….. think I’ll keep him :o).

I hope all the Aussie and NZ Dads had a fabulous Father’s Day yesterday. My DH was chuffed to bits with his pressie!! We had a devil of a job trying to figure out what to get him ……. so what do you get the man who has everything???? Why the kitchen sink of course LOL … Yes, that’s my gawjus hubby peeking over the top of his new camping kitchen he he he!! We had no trouble putting it all together, but packing it up and getting it back in the bag …. well that was another story!Aaaaaah, so THAT’s where it goes lol Easy Peasy …..lol!!!Now I can’t wait for Summer so that we can go beach camping again :o)!!!

PS …. Only 12 more sleeps Cheryl!!!!! Woohoo :oD!!!

I finished this tablerunner today for a quilt-as-you-go class I’ll be teaching after I get home from our holidays (Btw, 14 sleeps til we go :o)!!!!!).

But ya know,  it doesn’t matter what it is - from a little coaster to a queen sized quilt …my sweet Sophie always has to check it out … from top to bottom he he he!!!
