A bit of this, a bit of that …

My freinds Valerie and Lynn and I have been busy stitching for the Rosevale retirement village’s Christmas stall. Do you like our cute little pot holders?? We’ve lined them all with Insul-brite to prevent burnt fingers … and I think they turned out great!!

So when I got home I decided to make another one … I think this one will go into my box of goodies for my Early Bird Chrissie gifts – what do you think Judith?? I finally got another gift in the box :o)!!

We also made these cute little gift bags that we’ll fill with some goodies …. In between all this giftie making I’ve also been working on a new design … just a couple of sneaky peeks for now.

A pretty red yo-yo flower growing out of some gawjus Aster Manor fabrics … yummm :o).Any guesses on what I’ve been making????I’m not the only Gum-nutter who’s been busy … pop over to Dawn’s blog and check out her new **FREE** BOM - “Frosty Flakes” …. soooo pretty :o)!Actually … it’s a Block of the Week … (does that make it a BOW???? We sure did!!! We went to our friends Valerie and Bob’s for a bbq … mmmmm, roast lamb on the barbie, chicken and snags …. YUMMM. Not to mention the backyard cricket and cane toad races lol. Not real toads, oh no thank you, I really couldn’t imagine having to touch one of those ugly brutes … no, these were the cute pink plastic variety … and Valerie won!!! That’s me on the left coming second last [[sigh]]!!!This was one of the prizes for the day … isn’t it a fun stubby cooler, it even had a hat to keep the flies out of the beer LOL!!It was very hot but most cooled off in the pool …. what a fun day it was :o)!!

I’m still doing my “eBay renovations”. Bear’s room is done now I’m doing my sewing room. I’ve bought an old Canadian banker’s desk – it’s about 50–60 years old I’m told. I now have lots of lovely drawers to keep my fat quarters in … And a certain someone else has found herself a nice comfy spot too LOL ….

A little clue!!!

I see I've peaked your curiosity with my little bunch of keys LOL. Well here are a couple of sneaky peeks so that you can see that I'm working hard on this little project .... I'm loving how it's turning out so far, the fabrics I'm using are simply delish - 'Sweet Love' by Maywood!!! Do you think you know what it might be??????

Hmmmm, a bit of stitchery, a bit of applique' .... but where are the keys???? Oh I'll be using them ... I just haven't got that far yet ;o). I have a full day of stitching ahead of me today so I'm hoping to get it finished - fingers crossed :o).

Here's a little gadget that I treated myself to last week. Isn't it sweet!!?!? I love anything wood ;o). This is perfect for me in my small sewing area ... it's got a little 'peeper hole' in the end - you know, the sort you have in the door to see who's on the other side. That way I can hold it up to my eye and see my quilt layout from a distance without having to stand far away from it!!!

Now, how clever is that!!!! One of my friends at quilting brought some along last week as her husband had made them and she was selling them ... so I pounced on this one :o).

DD2 is getting much better after her awful fall ... as you can see she's still got the brace on, she has another 3 weeks of wearing that (day and night - yuk), but it hasn't stopped her doing the things she likes. Here she is cooking dinner for us, the hand is up because the bacon (apparently) "bit" her LOL. Suspecting it spat a little - he he ... ya get that ;o).

Dinner was delicious by the way, we had Fettucini Carbonara with chicken ...... Mmmmmm, YUM!!!!!!!! ................ Thanks Bear :o)!!!
