AND it’s got flossies in it for me too!!! And I’ll have NO excuse for not labelling my handmade pressies for people cos Cheryl has also included these adorable little labels. Thank you so much dear Cheryl … I love it all :o)

I also got a lovely surprise from Judith … isn’t this a great idea!!??! On the back there’s a little plastic sleeve for my name and address :o). Now I’ll have no trouble finding my luggage when we travel to UK to see Tahlia (DD1) … and it’s SO ‘Aussie’ too, love that :o)!! Thanks so much Judith … you’re such a sweety!!!

As I’ve mentioned before I stitch with a couple of dear friends on a Wednesday and we finished this little project this week. It’s a basket cover designed by Leanne Beasley and the pattern was in Country Threads quite a long time ago ……… Yes, it’s been on my “To Do” list that long LOL. Does that give you a clue how long my list is **chuckle**!!??

That’s Valerie’s on the left, it’s going to live in her bathroom with handtowels and guest soaps in it. Lynn’s is in the middle … not sure what she’s using hers for (??). Lastly that’s mine on the left. I’ll be keeping my beads and jewellery making bits and bobs in mine, at the moment it’s all in a plastic bag so this is a GREAT improvement he he he.

Of course, as usual Sophie had to check it out for comfort while I was trying to take piccies for you ……

It’s like she’s got some sort of radar!!??

How is it that as soon as I lay something quilty out to take a piccy of it Sophie finds me??? I swear she was nowhere in sight when I laid out this cute little traymat to show you. But as soon as I clicked … there she was LOL.And of course once she realised that her kitty radar had led her to a comfy spot once again, she settled in!!! Don’t you love that look on her face …. she’s almost DARING me to shift her!!!!! Well I did!!!! I couldn’t show you what I’d made with her bum planted firmly in the middle of it he he he.I made this with the leftover strips from making this, plus a few bits from my scrap box. It’s just a little tray mat to use when my dear Mum comes to stay with us. She’s waiting for a knee replacement op and was supposed to go in a week ago but got sent home for lack of beds. So now we wait until they call her again. She’s coming here to recuperate after it’s done, and so now I’m prepared lol, so there will be brekky in bed when she gets here :o)!!!

I’ve been playing with some truly delish fabrics!!! Have you seen Moda’s “Blush” range from Basic Grey?? Oh it’s SO pretty. I’ve got just a few pieces at the moment but I just know there will HAVE to be more. Here’s a sneaky peek at what I’ve been up too. Hopefully I’ll get some more time to stitch this afternoon (fingers crossed) so I should have it finished soon. I’ll show you more when it’s done :o).

Hope you’ve all had a fabulous weekend, we’ve had LOADS of rain, and we needed it so badly so the garden is looking much brighter now :o). Look at my gorgeous Hoya ……… and my pretty begonias….These are all right outside Bear’s bedroom window. Isn’t she lucky!!!

Finally finished my “Rebel”

I’m going to take a wild guess and say I started this project close to eighteen months ago. It’s been sitting waiting to be quilted for nearly a year I’d reckon!! But ….. it’s finished, YAY!!!!!!!!Loads of 3/4” hexies framing 5 sweet stitcheries. This pattern is called ‘Rebel’ and it’s by Angels in Disguise. It has 4 delightful rather traditional country styled angels in each corner … there’s “Joy”

and “Hope” …. and also Faith and Harmony … but I didn’t take a piccy of them. In the middle is the less traditional “Rebel” in her boots and denim … isn’t she a treat!!? Some of you might recognise these fabulous stitcheries as the work of the very talented Cath Walker :o) ….. they’re just too cute!!! I’m just so pleased to have finished this and have it hanging up on my wall :o).

I got some lovely mail today!! My Stitcher’s Angel gifts arrived from Norway!! What a fabulous surprise :o) … and aren’t they just beautiful :o)!! Here are the gorgeous items she made especially for me ….The sweetest little bag, just right for carrying around my small stitchy projects!! A needle holder, pin cushion and scissor keep all beautifully made. But that’s not all, she also sent me these treasures … Delicious Tilda fabric, rosy embroidered applique’ and some silk threads……also this gorgeous ribbon and little tape measure with a magnet on the back, I’ll always be able to find one now ;o) My Stitcher’s Angel had emailed me to let me know it would be late … her life has been busy lately I think ;o). Thank you so much my dear Angel … these wonderful goodies were most definitely worth the wait :o)!!!

Where’s Amy’s remote???

I can’t believe how quick Amy is!!! Pop on over and visit her cos she’s finished her “Where’s the Remote” armchair caddy already and it’s GAWJUS!!! Now normally when I buy fabric I’m drawn towards delicious pastels with irresistable rosy florally (is that even a word LOL??) patterns. Not this time though. Nope … this time I’ve got some orientals ready for my first Sashiko workshop. The workshop isn’t for a couple of weeks but I’m really looking forward to it so I popped down to my local patchwork store to grab what I needed. And how cool is the bag I got to put all my goodies in!!!??! Love my local patchwork store :o).

Have I mentioned that I don’t like housework????

I bet I have ….. it really is a pain!!! I’ve just finished one of the yukkiest jobs there is. Cleaning the oven. Don’t bother scrolling down cos I didn’t take a piccy …. oh no, I wouldn’t do that to you LOL {{{blechhh}}}. My friend told me that you can actually pay a guy to come out and do it for you ~ that’s all he does, he cleans ovens!!! I have to wonder who on earth would want to do that all day everyday?? Maybe I should start saving now so that he can come and do mine next time ;o)!!! I must admit though, my oven does look lovely now that it’s all sparkly clean. Maybe I’ll just stop cooking he he he, then it won’t get dirty again.

Now that I’ve done that most unpleasant job I can show you what I found in the newsagent the other day …. Nice magazine …. but wait ….. what’s that teeny tiny piccy in the bottom left hand corner (no … NOT the barcode ~ NEXT to the barcode)??? Well it looks like my “Daisy Knot” bag!!!! Hang on, I know it’s hard to see. How’s this…….. He he … yep, that’s my “Daisy Knot” bag :o) *VBG*!!! This pattern was published in Country Threads a couple of years ago (or more???) so it was quite a thrill to see it in a magazine again ~ and on the cover no less :o)!! WooHoo!! Don’t they take gorgeous piccies!!!

February Freebie - "Where's the Remote???"

Here's my design for you ... it's called "Where's the Remote???". A super armchair caddy for you to keep all those remotes in, rather than hiding them behind the cushions or under the couch ...... hmmm, or is that just in my house LOL???So quick and easy to make ... and no more searching for the dratted remote lol!!!! He he ... there's no doubt now where the remote should live now :o)!!
I used one of the sweet rolls from the Moda Bakeshop ~ but it's ok if you don't have one, all you'll need is some 1 1/2" strips from your stash, a couple of fat quarters and your binding and batting ;o).Pop on over to the Among the Gumtrees blog where you can download the pattern for FREE!!! And remember, there's a new pattern on the first of each month so be sure to keep an eye out for them :o).

Don't forget too that your second block in Cheryl's "Under the Sea" BOM ~ "Frances the Fish" is coming out today so you can visit there too and see how handsome Frances is :o).
